Phenix City Library Story Hour: Our PR Manager, Ms. Amanda Bradshaw, went to read to the children during the Library’s weekly story hour. The story was perfect for the beginning of Fall, and Dr. Chandra even threw in some Fall cookies to celebrate the season.

Dr. V’s birthday- We celebrated with her favorite dessert- the small slice of cheesecake beside the chocolate cake, which the rest of the staff enjoyed.

Fire Safety Fun Day- Fort Mitchell Clinic partnered with the Fort Mitchell Community Volunteer Fire Department to host a fire safety fun day for the kids at Mount Olive Primary School. Kids had three educational game stations, and especially enjoyed shooting the fire hose

South Girard High School Parenting Day Talk- Dr. Michelle DeRamus spoke on teenage depression to a crowd of parents. She suggested signs of depression in your teen, how to help them, and when to get professional help, such as a therapist or child psychologist.

Oliver Elementary Harvest Festival- Ms. Amanda made Halloween masks with the children.

Ridgecrest Parenting Talk- Dr. Chandra spoke about positive discipline strategies at Ridgecrest Elementary School.

Smiths Station Fall Festival- Phenix City Children’s partnered with the Farm House pumpkin patch in order to provide more than 100 pumpkins for children to decorate at the Fall Festival. It was a great collaborative effort, and the kiddos had a blast!

Staff Pumpkin Painting Party- We had fun painting pumpkins as well. We used our team building event to decorate our pediatric office for the season!

Westview Parenting Day- Dr. Michelle DeRamus prepared a presentation on bullying, which Ms. Amanda presented to parents at Westview. We explained that Dr. DeRamus is a resource who can help with these kinds of issues, right here in the Phenix City community.

Mount Olive Primary School’s Parenting Day: Dr. Chandra donated 6 dozen doughnuts and spoke about bullying.

Chick-Fil-A Fall Festival- Ms. Amanda gave out Halloween-themed tattoos to children from the community. Families came from all over, and the removable tattoo booth was quite popular.

Muscogee Moms Spooktacular Event- Dr. Chandra donated the supplies to make 100 spider lollipops (inspired by Pinterest,) so the kids got to take home a creative Halloween snack.

Lakewood Primary School’s Nutrition Workshop- Ms. Amanda put together a workshop on the food groups and spent a morning at LPS explaining the value of a balanced diet to the children. She challenged them to “Health and Wellness Bingo,” where each child went home to practice healthy habits over a two-week period. Those who accumulated the most points won a prize, compliments of Dr. Chandra.

Parenting Day at Oliver Elementary- Dr. Chandra spoke about positive reinforcement discipline strategies and explained the importance of recognizing positive behavior rather than only emphasizing the negative behaviors of your child.

St. Joseph’s Halloween Festival- Ms. Amanda attended the Fall festival and enjoyed seeing so many Fort Mitchell Clinic patients all dressed up! She helped to work the moon bounce.
